EveryoneTen Years in Real Estate: From Learning to Walk Again to Leading Relocation
Ten years ago, I was learning how to walk again. Today, I lead a division that helps people move their entire lives.
A decade ago today, I closed my very first real estate transaction. Looking back at the photo from that day, clutching a commission check and trying to look confident, is a humbling reminder of where this journey began.
What the photo doesn't show
I was only a few months out of a life-altering car accident. I was healing from multiple broken bones, relearning how to walk and diving headfirst into a brand-new, intimidating industry. I was the new kid on the block, just trying to make a difference.
If you had told me then that this scary leap of faith would lead to becoming Vice President of Relocation for Coldwell Banker Advantage, serving the Triangle and the Triad, I wouldn't have believed you.
That's the beauty of this industry and the power of a relentless work ethic. When you put in the grit, the heart and the hustle, all things are possible.
Relocation feels full circle
Relocation isn't just about logistics, corporate contracts or moving boxes. It's about navigating big, often overwhelming life transitions.
Having had to rebuild my own life and career ten years ago, I know exactly what it feels like to find your footing in a brand-new chapter. It's a privilege to lead a team that helps individuals and families do the same thing every day.
Growth doesn't happen in comfort zones. It happens when you embrace the scary choices and do the work anyway.
Thank you
