Common questions

Who is this relocation program for?

Relocation managers, relocation management companies (RMCs), corporate HR and mobility teams, real estate agents referring clients, and the transferees and families themselves who are moving into, out of or across North Carolina.

Which areas of North Carolina do you cover?

The Research Triangle, including Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, Apex, Holly Springs, Garner, Wake Forest, Johnston County (Clayton and Smithfield), Vance County (Henderson) and Lake Gaston, and the Piedmont Triad, including Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point, Kernersville, Burlington, Mebane and Mount Airy. Coldwell Banker Advantage has offices throughout these areas, from Smithfield and Wake Forest to Burlington, Kernersville, Lake Gaston and Mount Airy.

Can you help a transferee who is leaving North Carolina?

Yes. Through the Coldwell Banker network of more than 93,000 agents in 40+ countries and territories, Timothy personally connects outbound clients with a trusted agent at their destination and stays in touch until they’re settled.

What is a Broker Market Analysis (BMA)?

A Broker Market Analysis is a broker’s written opinion of a home’s likely sale price and marketing time. Employers and relocation management companies use BMAs to set values in relocation home sale programs, and our agents prepare them to RMC standards.

Do you work with my company’s relocation management company (RMC)?

Yes. We work alongside RMCs and corporate mobility teams every day, follow their policies, timelines and reporting requirements, and keep your relocation counselor updated through closing.

How quickly can a transferee start touring homes?

Area and home tours can usually be scheduled on short notice, in person or virtually. Overall timelines depend on the relocation policy and the market, and we coordinate closing dates with start dates whenever possible.

Can I buy a new home before selling my current one?

Often, yes, depending on your relocation policy and financing. Many corporate policies include buyout or bridge options, and our affiliated mortgage partners can walk you through what fits your situation.

Do you help with rentals and temporary housing?

Yes. We help transferees find rentals and short-term housing while they settle in. Rental inventory can be tight in parts of the Triangle and Triad, so we recommend starting early.

Do you help military families relocate?

Yes. We support active-duty, veteran and military families moving to or within North Carolina, including coordination around orders and report dates.

Are your agents certified in relocation?

Every agent who serves our relocation transferees must complete Coldwell Banker Advantage’s Relocation Partner and Corporate certifications before taking a relocation client. That training is how we deliver white-glove service to transferees, RMCs and corporate partners.

Do clients get discounts on mortgage or title services?

Yes, for clients buying or selling outside a corporate relocation program. Our affiliated lender and title company offer discounts to clients working with a Coldwell Banker Advantage agent. Corporate relocation programs typically assign their own mortgage, title and insurance providers. Ask your agent or our relocation team for current details.

Can you help my spouse and family settle in?

Yes. We help families compare schools and childcare, tour neighborhoods and connect with the local community so the whole household feels at home.

How many relocation referrals does Coldwell Banker Advantage handle?

Since 2015, Coldwell Banker Advantage has received more than 31,000 relocation referrals and closed more than 13,000 of them, totaling more than $4 billion in closed volume. That is a 42% referral closing rate over the period, and 45% in 2025. Our relocation division has served North Carolina since 1991.

How long has Coldwell Banker Advantage had a relocation division?

Since 1991. Coldwell Banker Advantage and its relocation division were founded the same year, and CBA has been a CIH | Leads Network Platinum member in the Triangle and Triad every year since 2010.

How does Coldwell Banker Advantage use AI and technology in relocation?

We are not a tech company; we are a real estate company that empowers our agents with technology. The tools we use, including AI, are there to enhance the agent experience, never to replace it. Our agents have top-of-the-line tools that help a listing stand out, help buyers compare locations and choose the right area, and keep every step of the move on track, with a local expert guiding the way.

How do I send a referral or set up a relocation partnership?

Brokers and RMCs can send referrals to Coldwell Banker Advantage three ways: through Broker Center, as a Platinum member of the CIH | Leads Network (formerly Anywhere Leads); through eRelocation; or directly to our relocation team at Relocation@cbadvantage.com. To set up a relocation partnership, use the Partner with me form, call or text Timothy at (919) 300-5162, or email timothyneubauer@cbadvantage.com.
